Mr. Scott has been a director since March 2019. Mr. Scott previously served as Senior Vice President of population health of Novant Health, Inc. from February 2015 to May 2019. From November 2012 through December 2014, Mr. Scott served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Affinity Health Plan. From June 2010 to December 2011, Mr. Scott served as President, U.S. Commercial of CIGNA Corporation. Prior thereto, he served as Executive Vice President of TIAA-CREF from 2000 to June 2010 and as President and Chief Executive Officer of TIAA-CREF Life Insurance Company from 2000 to 2007. Mr. Scott is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Becton, Dickinson and Company (NYSE: BDX), Dollar Tree, Inc. (NASDAQ: DLTR) and Lowe’s Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW). Mr. Scott is also a director of Equitable America (since May 2012), and a director of Equitable Financial (since March 2019). Mr. Scott previously served as a member of the Board of AllianceBernstein Corporation from September 2020 until March 2022.
Mr. Scott brings to the Board expertise as an audit committee financial expert, and strong strategic and operational expertise acquired through the variety of executive roles, including insurance industry and financial services experience; and experience as a board member of public companies.
